nah... I need a backseat or, if I get a 2 seater, an automatic...
so that the wife can drive it when she goes to work so I can have her Touareg to pick up my daughter.
Remember the car seat in the back of my S4? Well, that wouldn't fit too well in the hatch of a Z06!

just talked to my friend last night about the Elise....
the guy that owned it traded it to him for a F355 Ferrari. He ended up giving the guy more than he thought he was going to have to once he saw the car. I guess it has a ton of extras on it (wheels, exhaust, painted interior pieces, blah blah blah) and it only has 3k miles. I thought I could get it for low $30's but now it would be right around $40k so that's out for now, unless I find another one that's similar for close to $30k.
I'm getting aggravated, I think I might just get something that's more of a luxury car for a while. I've been looking at the new Lexus GS430's and I found an '06 w/ 4k miles on it. They're nice, the wife likes them, the kid fits in it, etc.. It might not be bad to have something that's comfortable and reliable for a little while.... although I can't see it lasting too long

I was thinking about that too but...
the 430 has already taken a big depreciation hit (approx $58k new, could get it for low $40k's) and would proabably still be worth what (or very close to it) I paid come the fall which is how long I plan on keeping whatever I buy right now. The GS350 seems great but they're kind of hard to find right now, they're virtually impossible to find used and I would go w/ the RWD anyway vs the AWD since I probably wouldn't own it through the winter. If the right deal came up on a 350 I'd take it but if a great deal comes up on the 430 I'd take that too... plus, I like V8's... even if they're stuffed in a Lexus!
