dont get me wrong, the idea is totally cool
but to have a giant white twirling thing in the way of part of the boston skyline.....they couldve put it up somewhere else IMHO. But still a cool idea, Im all for wind power.

i don't get why people make such a big deal about the windmill being an eyesore...
coming up into boston from the south, you also see a huge gas tank (and back in the day there were 2)....you also see power lines and telephone lines everywhere you go.....so what makes the windmill an eyesore and not everything else? not arguing here....just curious...

2nd.....I think we should have them wherever possible.
The ones proposed out in the ocean/sound are a great idea too.
"Boo Hoo....they wreck my view"
Get over it and stop thinking only about yourself. Our country needs to get with it and utilize alternative energy sources as much as possible.

here is why
the gas tank has been a symbol for those entering boston from the south, it has been there a long time. THe only view it obstructs is that of the water. THe windmill....obsturcts the view inland. Not THAT big of a deal to make an argument out of it, but it seems really out of place.

re: ""Boo Hoo....they wreck my view""....ok, not to start a war but
WInd power is not nearly effieicent enough to be beneficial with only one windmill standing there. THe change overall in energy consumption from others is minimal. Now, an assload of them in the sound? that is fine because they will actually make a difference there.
Its an eyesore in that it does not benefit us visually or electrically as a standalone. YEars of development are necessary to make one windmill efficient enough that putting a random one up is worth it. Go take a bout trip around the cape. One guy lives on one of the smaller islands and he is the only inhabitant. He has a windmill built so that he ca have power but even then, he cant run a HOUSE at full effieiceny, and that mill is in one of the windiest parts of the state!
We can agree to disagree, but I am putting down my full reasoning for calling it an eyesore. My justification of it ruining a view is backed up by its inefficieny as a standalone unit.
