Trying to buy an audi...never thought it would be so hard
Unfortunately I'm very picky. Right now I've got my heart set on a black on black, 2002 A4 1.8T with the sports package. I guess it's harder to find than I thought. I've been browsing craigslist, cars.com, and autotrader for the last few weeks and can't find a thing. I'm in the North Bay. Any ideas as to where I can find one of these?

Oh yeah, definitely looking for it to be quattro, and tiptronic. It doesn't have to be a 2002, but for my price range (ballpark 15K) I think that's the right year. I definitely have seen a lot of these around, just not in black on black.

Blk/blk/Q/Tip/Sport might be a tad rare as the rest of those features point to a stick tranny, and
in any case, it's a prime car for snow country, so lease returns probably get bought up by dealers in the mountains.
I think dealers can now search among certified cars, so you might want to cozy up to a dealer you like, and see what they can do for you. If the used car manager knows what you want, they can also search through an internal system for fresh lease returns going to Audi dealer only auctions (creampuffs go there, while the rest go to open dealer/public auctions). The upside if you use a dealer is the extended warranty and potentially some good used car interest rates.
Just a thought.
