Default shouldn't it have been balanced by the installer?

Are there dampers at each take-off (where the branch duct/flex leaves the main trunk line)? You can just use trial and error to a certain extent. I've nver seen a residential unit tested and balanced using legit equipment. I've seen tons of commercial systems balanced.

The thing you have to be careful of is not to shut down too many outlets as the coil can freeze up and there's a chance you could get liquid back to the condensing unit and frag the compressor.

Haha. You betcha ;-) Sadly, I don't know any balancers who would do a residential job. Sorry.
