with the tip and avgd 75-80 (well maybe a bit over 80, heh, heh) most of the way - best hwy mileage so far - finally getting some tangible bang for my major 80k mile service bucks last fall.

Just want to say that when a B5 S4 is running well (even w/ totally stock engine & tip tranny), there really is nothing like it, imo. I couldn't imagine what one of these w/ another 75-100 hp would be like (overkill?).

While I remain totally paranoid about the turbo's (although they are fine), it's times like yesterday that keep pulling me in further...car really is a hoot!

Default Thanks about the 850 - for me was love at first sight and is my real pride & joy

Have had it about 11 yrs now (w/ just under 40k on the odo as we speak) and I enjoy it as much (if not more) today than when I first brought it home. Almost sold it a few yrs ago, but I got cold feet at last minute and decided to keep it (never regretted it). Had to wash it Sat 'cause I took it out for some "exercise" in early am and couldn't belive how filthy it got - couldn't let it stay that way.

Told my wife I expect to be buried in that car (she did not find it amusing).

But I agree, for sheer sh_ts & giggles, getting on the gas in the B5 is a total blast! Love your noggy btw.

Default My 8'er is pretty stock, just has upgraded exhaust, tranny chip and

the M6 rep wheels you saw in the pics - not a quick car by any means, but is very long-legged and great for cruising - 100+ mph never felt so calming as in this car.

And yes, the maint on the B5 can be a major bitch, but when everything is running just right (as was for me yesterday), I do think it's worth it.
