Default Time to clean out the garage...

It seems thatliving things are finding their way into my garage. Just the other day my wagon was at Barrier Audi for what is in effect an annual checkup (15,000 mile visit in this case) and the service advisor Dan calls to tell me everything is fine, except, well, some mice or something had been living in my engine bay down by the radiator (and the pollen collector) and they were trying to clean out all the nesting material (appeared to be insulation of some kind). Great, now I have to dig around in my attic to see WTF is going on. Then today I'm putting the Rotas back on the car to cycle my new RT615s around town for a bit before taking them to the track and I see a tail trying to wedge its way under some boxes. Ahah. No you don't, you little @#$%. I block him with my foot and see it's not a mouse, so I snag him. He's in the yard now, much happier I reckon, but probably more likely to be eaten by a crow! I guess I'll have to admit now that our garage is a wreck. But hey, I can get three cars in there comfortably and six sets of wheels! Sigh. I can only imagine what else is living in there.

Has anyone else found interesting things living in your garage?

other than some brown recluses the size of a silver dollar. Cool find. Let the cat play with it.

Default Hehe, I found a similar nest in my engine a while back.

I'm out in the middle of the woods in Fall City and we get all manner of creatures. My beater truck, which is in a two-wall carport pretty far away from the house, gets it really bad, expecially since I only drive it about once a week. In the spring when it was cooler I left a polar fleece in the cab and it got destroyed. I found pieces up in the big round air filter cover along with a bunch of birdseed.

The nest in my Audi was up at the top of the engine, and made out of dirty looking off white cottony stuff. Our garage is not attached to the house, and is uninsulated, so I have no idea what the material was or where it came from.
