Uh... can you say parity? Same engine, just 800 lbs more car in the cab.

Isn 't the 225 TT engine substantially different internally than even the A41.8T?

Default Actually the longitudinal (A4) block is quite different than the transverse (TT)

block.

For example, the water pump is built into the block on the TT, where it is external on the A4. There are other fundamental differences also. One of the reasons behind our increased power rating 170 vs 180 is because of the way the engine is placed.

Default For all intents and purposes

essentially the same. The 225 block is stronger as are the internals. I do believe that the longitudinal head from some engines flows better.

Default Yes... stronger block and internals

I believe that the rods are an area of significant improment between the two engines. The 180s have powdered metal... ours are from a 2.0 16v

Cyl 3 is more reinforced, and the block is strenghtened similar to a girdle. We have forged Mahle pistons, and the skirts are coated.
