Default Blow Off Valves

Are there any disadvantages to having and aftermarket blow off valve in the winter? I live in the winter and was wondering what would happen if I had one. Are there any BOV's that bolt right up? I know there are the GReddy, HKS, and Blitz varieties but they require some welding.

Default Go for a Bypass valve/Diverter Valve. Blow Off valves are good for pretty much nothing

Do a search on either of the above, or "Bailey" or "Forge" for more info
