Car running again after $500...
...at least it wasn't a blown piston or valve.
The dealer did a compression and leakdown test on #2. Swapped plugs and coils with #3 and the problem didn't go away.
It ended up being the Spark Control Unit (part #4D0-905-351) which cost me $314.25 and $150 in labor for hunting down the problem and replacing the part. This is the little "heat sink" thing that is oblong in shape and snaps into the top of the airbox. I still can't believe this thing costs $314.25!
Anyway, the car runs great and I probably won't bring the car back to this dealer (Hoffman Audi) because I feel like I should have at least had somebody buy me dinner before they screwed me!

That's what that thing is!
I was looking at it last weekend. What happens with that when you go to one of those cone intake deals? Sorry it cost you so much but glad you're back on the road.
