! ECU Problems maybe? Anyone have this problem (more...)
I posted a while ago about my A4 having occasional problems under hard acceleration, mostly in 4th & 5th gear. It felt as the spark cut out for a second or two.
One day the engine light came on, but the next day it turned off. I took it to the dealer for service and they couldn't find anything unusual, saying that there was no fault code, they even went as far as to say that maybe the gas I am using is causing my problems. I changed the brand of gas, why not.
On Wednesday I was on the highway accelerating hard in 5th when the same thing happened - car hesitated for 1-2sec but this time it was continuously doing this as long as I was accelerating and the engine light was going on and off (at around one cycle per second), flashing for a total of 30sec. I could cruise at 120kph but if I tried to accelerate hard then the same thing would occur. After a couple of minutes I could not reproduce the same effect and the engine light never came back on.
Since then, like every other time, it goes dormant for some time and then reappears.
I believe I possibly have ECU soldering/etc problems, especially when I noticed the flashing engine light, as if there was lose connection/open circuit within the ecu. Some other people initially suggested throttle body. Anyone care to comment? TIA
