Default i am dumbfounded! someone pointed out and made me realize the the ignition amp/heatsink

is NOT in the path of the airflow. think about it. i think the 'intake kits' got me confused

Default Yes it is...

...if you look in the airbox, it is placed at the opening of the airhorn so all the air must flow past it.

If you look at this picture, the heatsink is at the top of the airbox in that "dome". It's not really at the opening of the horn and IMO the turbo5/LLtek intake actually cools it better since it's directly in the airflow.

You're basing everything on what your dealer told you. It seems like the dealer is trying to blame everything on you. I can't see how by cutting the horn the airflow to the heat sink is greatly reduced. It really doesn't look like there's that much airflow to it to begin with in the stock airbox. It is also possible the ignition amplifier failed on it's own and cooling is not the cause of it.
