Nube understanding about performance upgrades
So, I've been trying to read through a lot of threads and still have some questions or at least 1 that may lead to more. Could someone explain to me what pulley swaps do and if doing only a pulley swap would make any differences to a car without a tune? Basically, explain upgrades from start to finish. for example:
1. Aftermarket cold air
2. exhaust (or is the stock A7 exhaust enough up to a certain tune?)
3. Pulley or Stage 1 tune
etc
Thanks in advance.

I am assuming you have a supercharged motor 3.0t.
Pulley swaps are generally done to spin the supercharger faster to produce more boost. More boost (more air) means you can add more fuel and get more power.
Just turning up the boost without a tune should not produce more boost because the stock tune would limit it. A more advanced tune would allow more boost and add more fuel.
Generally a "cold" air intake would do a couple of things for you.
1. Place the air filter or end of intake in an area where it is not taking in hot air from under hood but rather outside air.
2. MIght be less restrictive if stock air system is a choke point.
Exhaust (aftermarket)
1. New sound, usually louder.
2. Possibly more flow, depending on type and size of tubing used.
3. You can do a little research to see if you really need it based on your power level.
Pulley and Tunes - Just go to the APR page, they are a big supplier of this stuff and there are complete descriptions of all the stages, the hardware required or not and the power levels you can achieve.
