Power Stages for Audi 1.8Ts
Hi all. I am looking for good power stages (upgrade paths) that the Web may have for Audi 1.8Ts. When I was looking into the Eclipse, there were plenty, but I cannot find as many for Audi 1.8Ts. Thank you.

Umm...
You can build a 1.8T pretty easily from 170 to 300 HP and beyond. It's all a matter of resources and what you want to do with the car. If you want to AutoX and use the car as a daily driver, the Audi is probably a good choice. If you're not concerned about fit and finish, and you want to go fast in a straight line, (drag race), you'd do better to go with the Eclipse.
...but you can get a 1.8T to 215ish horsepower with just a chip and exhaust. Of course, they're heavy cars. It all depends on what you want.

I agree with SkydiveA4
I'm not going to argue that the A4 is some kinda drag racing machine. It can potentially be fast, but it wasn't layed out to run circles around Corvettes or anything of that nature. Although they can be fairly good AutoX cars and the Quattro setup really gives you an advantage over the competition.
There are some companies out there that make upgrade paths for the Audi's if that is what your looking for, but it doesn't exactly have the market that Honda's do. If you want I can email you some links to some of the companies that I know of so you can check them out.

There are a lot of things you can do for power stages on our 1.8t's. I am not done pushing my K03
yet and I am making around 230 hp and running as fast as most stock S4's and A4's with K04's.

Re: I agree with SkydiveA4
OK. I guess I should have explained my entire situation here. I want an AWD car that weighs between 2000-3000 pounds with a great deal of potential for modification from a small-displacement engine. I was going to purchase the second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse; but, although it is fast, it has a lot of problems with crankwalk (the crankshaft comes loose due to poor bearing fittings). Hence, I decided on the 1984 Audi 4000 CS Quattro, one of the best-handling cars to come out of Ingolstadt with a bullet-proof drivetrain. I intend to transplant a 1.8T into the 4000; I am still deciding which 1.8T to use though (I will probably use the 200's 20V 1.8T, essentially the same engine as the A4 1.8T's except that it is cheaper). So, this car will be incredibly fast and handle incredibly well. I have good expectations for this project.

If your mixing and matching....
I saw someone post this. Maybe this can help you. I am not familiar with tons of engine build up things, but if your willing to do a lot of custom work, this might work for you.

Look here

GSX
One of the guys here at work is running a '98 GSX with about 350HP and just went to a 1st gen rebuilt block to solve the crank end play wear problem. Claims the 1st gen block is much better...

The 200 20VT is a totally different engine.
First, it has 5 cylinders/4 valves instead of 4/5, and then the turbo is a K16 (?) or something with an external wastegate, can't remember.
Totally different engine.
Great engine though, If you are going to transplant to a 4k, you'd probably be better off getting a 10VT from a 5000T . It's an easier transplant, less complicated engine, and power would still get you wicked fast in a 4k.
