Wastegate actuator rod broken? (x-post)
I should have posted this here first. Forgive me for the brainfart.
On a romp home last night I shifted from second to third and was greeted by no boost. The car builds boost (or at least decreases vacuum) up to 0psi but won't go above it.
I don't think it is the turbo itself because I would see greater vacuum as revs/throttle application increase if the turbine wasn't spinning with the shaft at all.
I am pretty sure it's just the rod but I'm curious if anyone else here has experienced the same thing.
Thanks,
Mike O.

If it's the rod, it will most likely be the solder joint to the diaphram in the
pot. It is common for this to happen, buying a seperate pot is not common...hard to find. A friend has good luck silver soldering them back together. If this is your problem?

Hey Mike I think is the actuator because u have the same...
symptoms that I had when they installed my extrernal wastegate, in which this piece was missing from the wastegate. Do you get a little boost a high rpms? Once again I THINK that's what it could be.
