whats the typical way of releasing a drag launch rev limiter?
say you launch and set your launch rev limit at @5k, is this typically released manually like with a button? clutch switch? i'm thinking of using the signal stalk to do this since it 'ergonomicly there'. any ideas?

a guy I know with a DSM has something called a "stutter box"
all he does is floor ir and it holds his preset launch RPM. I think it must be linked to a speed sensor so it holds the launch RPM of 4500 RPM while he is stopped, but will go to redline when he is moving.

Usually a clutch switch of some sort
unless you've got an automatic trans with a trans brake.
I would think the less stuff you have to mess with, the better, so if you can get it to actuate off of the clutch, it's one less thing for you to screw up

this one's for my other car. i thought of using the wiper stalk since its closer to the shifter
(using a toggle switch between wiper-revlimit) but alas autox goes on in the pouring rain.
a steering wheel with those aux buttons would be nice but right now the high beam normally-off/normally-on switches maybe my best bet if there is no automatic way

Don't you have one?
But seriously...it's a hydraulic clutch switch. Push the button, and the clutch goes down...nuff said.
You can rig one yourself with a solenoid and some plumbing, mine is from Audi. I only use it once in awhile. My clutch pedal is super hard, so I give my foot a rest sometimes with it.

Bah...
I have a small hole drilled near my cig. lighter. I am able to press this button with my finger and still have my hand on the shifter (so long as it's in 1st gear, which is the only gear I'd be using an adjustable rev limiter with anyways). I find this better than having some type of complicated automated system. With a DSM, the simplest system means the car will probably break less, which is always a plus.
