My phone is not in a case--do not want one. Is there a car mount that works without a case?

Tons of 'em. Best bet is do a search on Amazon for "mobile phone mounts". Lots of vent mounts, CD slot mounts, suction cup, etc., etc.
All you need to do is decide what works best for you.
If you want a really nice one, but expensive - KUDA custom leather mounts - AUDI - Q3 (since 2012). I've used them on several previous cars.

The ProClip linked above also has a case-less fit option. Good products that I've used for years.
