apoelistas the Canadian Audi factory alarm system does not include a motion detector but I'm sure, given that you installed the system, you know you have this feature and something is preventing from working ? My previous Audis - A4s had this feature.

Thanks. I think I need to check adaptation, if inclination sensor is working or if it needs calibration or if I need to increase sensitivity.

Ross tech does not give guidance on 046 comfort control unit.

LAST TEST TO CHECK INCLINATION SENSOR
-----jackup the car-------
Internal alarm works (tested with windows open)

046 Adaptations:
1. All values were set to 200 (highest sensitivity)
2. Vehicle alarm type was set to A5 so changed that to Q5
3. Two chirp beeps when unlocking was disabled so on channel 63 you add 4 to enable this. Mine became 44.

Codings+Adaptations on 046 = completion.

I did not manage to test the tilt sensor. According to Audi the horn hazard lights are activated when the integrated tilt sensor detects a slight change in the vehicles position. Probably moving car left and right will not sound the alarm but jacking it up will (tire antitheft system) if anyone can confirm.

jacking up the car one side to remove one wheel, chirp sound from alarm gets activated

Tilt sensor working.

Project successful.

To be honest I don't know why this project was not a priority to me. Very happy with the full alarm functions.

My last retrofit will be a dual USB charger.
Locations: Did not decide which of the following
1. Glovebox
2. Armrest
3. Radio side
4. Ashtray.

I have not decided to change my gateway to one with extended CAN in order to retrofit some of the safety package technologies. Surely having the need of the dealer to remove component protection of a used gateway does hold me or push me back but fitting a facelift gateway to a prefacelift Q5 sounds exciting.

I just finished the same retrofit, but the tilt button is not working/ lit - is there an adaption channel for testing this - I rechecked the wiring and it is as per elsa.
Thank you in advance!

Did you test the tilt sensor by trying to raise one wheel with the jack??? This is the only method I know of testing the tilt sensor.

All codings I did were disclosed in this thread
Comfort unit 046
Coding 07 - Long Coding
Byte 1 Bit -> 1,2,3,4, 6 Change 0 to 1 (6 is the radio, so I have activated this coding too)

+ 046 adaptations

1. All values were set to 200 (highest sensitivity)
2. Vehicle alarm type was set to A5 so changed that to Q5
3. Two chirp beeps when unlocking was disabled so on channel 63 you add 4 to enable this. Mine became 44.

You can check also the audienthusiasts retrofit webpage, may have a detail I did not post. I followed first principles using manuals but may be of help to you.
