I think this should work...
You need an AMI cable with USB on the end. From there you have to plug in a USB Flash drive with the MMI update. Then there is an Audi Bluetooth Adapter that is plugged into the USB interface.

I haven't been able to find them online anymore. I ordered mine from a dealership. I have one for sale on eBay right now.

Bluetooth audio streaming comes with Navigation option.

You have the IPOD interface in your audio system without Navigation.

You want to purchase via Amazon a device called TUNE2AIR. Costs $99. It plugs into the end of the IPOD cable. It will provide you bluetooth streaming via the IPOD connection. You may or may not get album/track/artist information.

you should be able to use this: http://www.cablejive.com/products/dockBoss-air.html

I have 2012 Prem+ w/o Nav and I use a similar product. This plugs into your 30-pin dock connector MMI cable that came with your Q5. Pair with it and stream away.

Wow... I just found another IPOD Bluetooth adapter for $15. Check this out.

Amazon.com: Mpow® Bluetooth A2DP Music Audio Receiver Adapter for Bose Sounddock and 30-Pin iPod iPhone Dock Speaker: Computers & Accessories Amazon.com: Mpow® Bluetooth A2DP Music Audio Receiver Adapter for Bose Sounddock and 30-Pin iPod iPhone Dock Speaker: Computers & Accessories

Prices have really come down.

The TUNE2AIR product is now $89.

Are you answering the original question that was already answered, or that the IPOD Bluetooth Streaming adapters will not work with this vehicle?

I was answering the original question. From my phone it didn't show the other comments, otherwise I wouldn't have answered

I bought a Logitech bluetooth adapter, connected for power to USB and to Aux In for streaming the music and Waze (nav) from my HTC One - works perfect. The connections are in the central console under the armrest.
The phone BT connection works fine too.
Forgot to mention I have an A4 2011 non MMI (same platform)

The unit plugs into the Car's ipod cable. The unit turns on fine. My iPod can connect to the unit via bluetooth. My iPod see the Mpow as a selectable audi source. My ipod streams to the Mpow. The Mpow receives the Audio Stream. MMI says that AMI source is not available, and the AMI source is greyed out.

Sending it back...

It's little more expensive than the other cheap A2DP modules, but Tune2Air works as if your iPod/iPhone is directly connected. All in-dash/steering wheel controls work as well. The streaming audio quality is also excellent.
