When I asked them to look it up, they were surprised to find that it's now a complete recall, and scheduled an appointment for me. Unfortunately, they were all booked up, and can't take me in until Oct 11. I hope I don't have a problem before then. I suppose I should carry some coolant in the car. What kind do we use?
If you've had your Q5 for only a week, is it still on the recall? When was it built then?

Mine was built on 03/09/2010 and my dealer told me that it is not on the recall list. Should I believe him?

My build date is 2/10, it has the plastic housing. Just had the 5000 service, but dealer can't change it out yet as it does not show on the list.

2013 Q5 2.0T, 52,000 miles – initially got the warning light low coolant in reservoir, topped off with water, leaking persisted and increased over the next few months. Diagnosis with pressure test was coolant leaking from water pump (black plastic housing) and replaced water pump (part # 06H121026DD), charged 4.5 hrs labor but it actually to over 6 hrs. Repair cost $982, includes 5% first time customer discount asked for at time of pickup. (other quotes bet. $1000-$1300, and some might charge separate diagnostic fee $90-$180)
