Default Rear seat headrest removal.

Every once in a while i need to drop the back seats to fit something In the back. How do you remove the headrest so that its not pressed up against the back of the seat? Thanks in advance.

I've never done it in my SQ but any other car, you just pull them up all the way and out.

most cars I've owned had a button that you pushed while you pulled it out.

Default I've done it..and it's a total PITA...check in the

owners manual for the full description but basically you need to release a pin that is under the plastic covers that the metal rods of the headrest slide through. You will need a long thin screwdriver to press against the release pin as you are pushing the leather or fabric down that the plastic cover sits over. I know my description sucks but once you read in the owners manual you will see what I mean. I would also suggest you do this in really good lighting or outside in sunlight. I know Audi engineers are really smart but man someone really dropped the ball on this. It does not need to be this hard.

Thanks. I suspected that the small slot opposite side of the button had something to do with releasing the headrests. Again, Over Engineering.
