Rusted Brake Calipers
#32
many options
1. powder paint; $$$ ( some say $300)but lasts a long time
2. spray paint; messy and may flake
3. paint with a brush; cheap ( $20 per colour)
i'm doing option three when the new q5 arrives
calipers will be red
disc will be black. just the edge where the venting is and the area where it mounts and you see most
may utbube video, some are just the WRONG and show to way NOT to do it
do it slow and with a brush

Similar issue on my 2006 A8 in Nor Cal. More so as rotors get quite old years wise even if still in spec thickness wise. With wheel (or rotor) off, just wire brush the hat area, as well as center hub. I just lightly spray with a high temp silver paint. Wipe off overspray on swept area of rotor with some paint thinner before paint dries and good to go.
