Brand New 2023 Q5 45 S Line Battery Died on Day 3 and my Audi Growing Pains
Took delivery of a new 2023 Q5 SUV 45 S-Line on Tues to replace 2019 Q5. Drove 115 miles back from dealer.
On Day 1, spent a few hours with the doors open to apply interior protection with CarPro C Quartz Leather 2.0. On Day 2, did a second layer and then, completed setup of MMI, radio presets, profiles, etc. The my Audi app and web portal are definitely Audi's weak points.
In the past 6 weeks after Audi Financial Services merged their accounts inside my Audi portal- I have not been able to see my AFS dashboard. I called technical support and they blamed my browsers (Safari bad, Edge unknown and only Chrome good). After stating it had worked previously on all of them, they then said it was my setting with pop up blockers and anti-spam filters. I turned all those off and said error result. "Please try again later". A ticket was placed and I was assured that the team would look into and get back to me. No one ever followed up.
With the new 2023 added in, I had the same issues so after some online searches- apparently pretty well known issue. The Reddit thread states to create a new email account and add the VIN back to new account and then link AFS accounts. Simple.
However, then all Audis need to have their Key Users changed. This new account requires verification and I was dreading wasting more time by having to goto the dealer. At least the agent was able to verify the account online and skip the dealer visit.
After setting up new profile in the 2023- still didn't work. Even input the 10 digit scratch off, but still didn't work. Had to call selling dealer sales person and they input the info into the system on their end and now it works.
While I was doing all this stuff back and forth, both online and in the Q5, the car started freaking out. Christmas tree of lights and error messages started popping up and eventually vehicle died.
Moral of the story- when messages say low battery, vehicle will charge while driving- probably best not to ignore them.
After trickle charge over night, battery is full and Q5 seems to working normally. Failure on Day 3- hope it's not a sign of the times to come.
PS Confirmed: no more wireless charging pad (and re-confirmed no hood insulation).

Wow, what a series of events to have to go through.
In the last picture, I first thought there was a water feature at the dealer. Looks more like a broken water line. Nice end to the day, huh?

Some lady driving to Audi service hit their fire hydrant. Free touchless car wash!

I just had the transmission malfunction on my 2020 Q5 25k miles- i could start the car but could not get it into and gear except neutral. Had Audi tow it to a dealership. The dealership can’t “see” it for 3 weeeks they are so backed up…1) do you know the cause of warning 2) is it still under warranty? Also, they don’t have a loaner and have no intentions on helping in that department. Thanks in advance. I had a previous Q5 that just had squeaky brakes which is why I went with a new one. It seems you have experience with Audi-my lease is up in March-I was going to purchase but now (after being on this forum) I’m inclined to just return it and move on to another non Audi car. What are your thoughts?

I don't expect any other brand is any better in terms of this kind of stuff. Forums are the place to find problems. Most of us (I anyway) have had positive experiences with Audi.
