I was successful as well, based on the excellent research and guidance from folks on the forum. I do wish that I could receive Traffic Plus, though, and it seems like that would just be a different channel (and a code other than 34305). Has anyone been successful at enabling Traffic Plus?

My audiconnect ran out in May and I bought a OBDEleven Pro. Today I just got around to changing the traffic code to 34305 - piece of cake. I called SiriusXM and, of course, the first rep said it wasn't available on my car. I asked for a supervisor and I was placed in contact with a very nice support specialist who gave me a 1yr traffic subscription. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it will (eventually) work given the success of people here. And I also give many thanks to those who figured out the code and placed the easy steps here to change it.

Edit: I have traffic!

Can someone please try this TMC code from this table.

Will this show in the virtual cockpit map display also, or just the center console display?

In my 2018 Q5, it shows up in both the virtual cockpit display AND the center console display.

In the settings for the map you can set what information you want to display on either the main MMI screen or the virtual cockpit screen. Menu->Map->riight menu options "[" - >Map Settings: "MMI map contents" or "Instrument cluster map contents". So you could have traffic on both screens or just one one, it's all preference. I notice that too many content items on the virtual cockpit map does cause it to lag a little.

Last year I purchased an 2016 Audi A6 coming off lease (Texas).

For a few months I had traffic reports on the Nav screen, but lost this after the trial period (with Audi Connect, I assume).

I have been trying in the interim to get SiriusXm Traffic displaying on the Nav screen, so far with no success. I don't care about Google Earth as some posters do, all I need is traffic.

Following recommendations on the Forum, I have;

1. Used a Ross-Tech VCDS to modfy the TMC settings in the 5F module from the original 65533 to 34305.

IDE05111-Fee-based traffic information (TMC) - 34305

--- show VCDS screen

2. After going through 3 levels of SiriusXm support, I was finally able to reach a support person who was willing to enable traffic for the vehicle. ($4/mo) As noted here, all lower levels simply said the radio is incapable to receiving traffic.

-- show Sirius screen

3. Checked to assure Traffic was enabled in the MMI POI settings

-- show MMI screen

4. I reset MMI in the vehicle

5. I requested several reboots from SiriusXM website

So far, no luck at all getting traffic.

-- show MMI screen

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Bob

Initially the online representative kept saying my car is not compatible and refused to help. But after I asked the rep to ask for a supervisor and saying I am willing to pay in advance for the service, suddenly the rep put me on hold and a nice floor supervisor helped me setup everything in couple minutes for $4 a month. And I don’t have to prepay anything and the supervior also waived the radio reactivation fee. After the chat was over, the sirius xm traffic plan showed up on my online account and I manually resent a refresh signal again using their online website. I waited for another 10 minutes and my car then started to receive traffic messages. Even though I missed google map a bit, which I will get over it soon, but just having traffic on the nav let me continue to use the built in nav instead of plugging in my phone everytime for a fraction of what Audi wants to charge.

For what it is worth to other 2016 Audi A6 owners, I was finally able to get SiriusXM traffic by changing the code to 1537

IDE05111-Fee-based traffic information (TMC) - 1537

Note, this is counter to the earlier forum recommendation;

i just tried changing mine to 34305 and I still see the online traffic check box but nothing comes in. I am not subscribed to Sirius traffic though.
1537 is the code for sirius traffic, and has info on road closures, traffic flow info, but q7's mmi is set to only interpret traffic messages. Thus, when you set 1537, you are getting most of info available from sirius, but your mmi does not show it all. If you add 32768 to the code (hence 34305), mmi understands it as sirius + online services, and will able to show traffic flow info on the screen, even though the information is coming from sirius, and not audi connect.

Hope this help others.

Bob
