Default I'm back!

After a 5 year hiatus with no Audi's after my B8 S4's electric power steering spookiness left a bad taste in my mouth, I left for Porsche-land and followed through with my signature. The lady of the house wanted something new and she almost went back to a Mini Hardtop from her Bimmer SUV, but cooler heads prevailed (the practicality of having two small cars that ride pretty hard) and we picked up a 2021 Quantum Gray SQ5. Premium Plus with Nav, B&O, Sport pack and cooled seats. Thankfully the bumper was not drilled since we found the car in NJ. If this car didn't work then we were going order a 2022. I think the only thing we would have done different on that car is maybe skip the B&O for the dynamic steering. We never could find a car with dynamic steering but I spent some good seat time in a non-dynamic car and Audi seems to have gotten rid of the demons that plagued the B8.5 S4. Maybe that and a sunroof delete. Only other wish might have been the heads up display as the Mrs. was a huge fan of that in her Bimmer. Shame that's bunded into the prestige only cars. Only gripes are I wish they had the quilted air cooled seats like the SQ7 as an option and for this sort of money they can include real exhaust tips and not make it a 1300 dollar 'port install option'. Not sure what accountant thought that was a great idea but I cannot see how the fakes lowered the cost of manufacturing.

Here are some photos...

No immediate plans for mods other then snow wheels and tires. Did a test fit and my old 20's from my B8 S4's and my A8L seem to fit and clear the brakes no problem so I will be looking to get a set of snowies for those. I know its not ideal to go with a wider wheel and tire for snow use but its not too crazy.
Current offsets are 39 on a 8x20 wheel, the bentley 20's are and offset of 41 on a 9x20 wheel. Should be about 15mm less clearance inboard and about 11mm of additional poke. Plans are to go with a 275x40 series tire. Probably the Alpins.

I know the Tires are the wrong size.

Will need some fresh conical wheel bolts as the stock ones are this odd rounded thing.

Rears appear to clear as well.

Stock wheel specs in case anyone needs them

Beautiful ride, but beware the potholes with those low profile tires!

Slight correction the snow tire will be 275/45 (not 275/40) Per the speed delta calculators online that should translate to the following:

I though that snow tires were better off being a smaller foot print and higher profile then the summers. 275 is a lot of extra rubber to slip around.

Narrow is better with snow tires.

I am fully aware narrower is better, but I have a free set of rims or rims that I bought like 12 years ago and they are 9" wide so that presents the quandary of going wider.

Update: I just realized that per tire rack a 255 width tire should be on a rim with a width range of 8-9.5" so I can get away with 255's on a 9".
I won't go wider (to 275) but I do not think I could go narrower unless I swapped the stock summer tires on to my extra rims and use Audi's narrower 8" rim to go down to 235/50 20" or something.
