--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Mr. Breeze,
You have completed the verification process successfully. You have completed a key user agreement and can now make yourself the key user for your vehicles.
To become the key user for your vehicle, you must enter your myAudi user name and the vehicle code in the MMI. The code provides proof of ownership and enables the use of vehicle safety services.

1. Scratch to reveal the 10-digit vehicle code
You can find the vehicle code under an opaque security laminate on the key chain you received with your keys when your vehicle was delivered.

2. Enter the vehicle code with your myAudi username in the Multi Media Interface (MMI) next to the steering wheel under the menu option:
- Audi connect
- Audi connect User Management
- Key user
- Define key user

Have fun using myAudi

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope the above is of some help. If you still experience problems I suggest you get with your sales guy at the dealership to get it sorted.
Good luck and congrats on getting your new 2019 Q5 Technik!

- Richard
Thanks for the feedback Richard.
I've received a bunch of emails because I keep adding myself as a key user and then deleting myself when the darn thing doesn't work.
I also got an email from Audi after I logged in to the my.audi.com site to set my preferred dealer.
I even went back and did it all again this morning and thought I had it licked.......until I tried to unlock my doors.
Grrrrrrrrrr!!!
I'll wait until the delivery specialist from the dealership gets back to me.

Wish me luck! Lol

I tend to agree @jeffrey r
I get a 3 year subscription so it's worth getting this thing up and running.

It takes 1 person 1 attempt to realize the thing is just screwed, isn't intuitive, and doesn't typically work the first time.
I totally agree with you and trust me I've said the same thing about this app and this setup

Couple tips:
1) Even though the car claims it fails to connect to server to add/remove key users, it probably still has (check the myAudi website to confirm).
2) I believe the 8-digit pin is for the infotainment (your 2019 should have that?). I'm assuming I have an infotainment system. What exactly is that?
My 2018 does not, yet the web portal keeps telling me my car isn't linked, and there is no way that I could ever complete this task (took a week of back and forth with the dealer, then to Audi Canada and then to Audi Germany). When I tried to enter it, it claims the server is unavailable since the functionality isn't applicable to my car.
3) Once you've logged in with your user/password, you no longer get any menu that allows you to enter a PIN. With the newly updated myAudi website, if you delete the key user from the car (the process you need to do to re-login in), the web portal will tell you that you need to contact your dealer to get a key user added again (another sighhhhh… moment). You don't need to, you can just log in through the MMI again to add the user back. I've done this a few times and it doesn't seem to change anything for my situation
Thanks for the feedback @Wires
I think I'll wait for a couple days to see if the delivery specialist can figure out what's going wrong.
If I mess abound with it any more I'm going to smash the screen on my brand new Q.
I've lost all of my patients on this cluster f%&k

JonnyRotten, I'm using a iPhone and tried logging in using both the app generated PIN and user credentials as Peter John noted. Both worked but only after the local dealer nerd (in a good way) re-created and re-authorized my key user account and then called Audi to correct a configuration errors in my Audi Connect account. It took all of 30 minutes to correct and validate it was working. I think what happened was the Audi servers did not correctly provision my car until it was reset on their side - no amount of logon attempts was going to work until the car was recognized on the ATT network.

The more I think about this @NavSQ I totally agree with what you said.
It sounds like there is something wrong on the server and Audi will have to reset something.

I had issues trying to set it up in the garage (couldn't contact the server). Seemed to work better outside (which really makes no sense since it's cell based). Since you should have the infotainment package, it's worth getting setup. If you didn't get that package, less of a concern since it's not really that useful.

That was one of the things that crossed my mind although I was trying to complete the setup with my vehicle outside. I thought maybe for some freak reason that whatever signal the Audi uses, it wasn't making a good connection with the mothership.
I'm not giving up that easily though. I'm determined to get it straightened out once and for all.
On a positive note, I'm really getting to know all the menus and where all the settings are in the MMI seeing as I've been digging around so much while trying to figure out my current dilemma.
