Q5/SQ5 Master brake cylinder recall

I was reading it as if Audi would be the only ones who could do the inspection/work. They would not reimburse any 3rd parties for anything related to this recall. Years ago on a Subaru outback recall for a bad alternator, they let me have the work done by my local garage, and reimbursed me - and that was at 92,000 miles. I was interpreting Audi's comment as not allowing that kind of situation.
and i too was a Subaru owner. i owned 4. great cars, but i thought they just never kept up with the times. they seemed about 5 years behind on pretty much everything. i do miss my STi though.

pedal issues
I was wondering if my car was in that batch because I have a normal soft brake pedal when I start the car sometimes. Other times I have to push hard to get it to start. This is the only one of out 13 Audis I've owned that has had this phenomenon. It's like the boost it needs for me to start the car is non existent but only intermittently.
I'll found out Tuesday. I also get CarPlay added to my R8 Spyder. Hooray! Two trips out to the dealer in the same day.

Does anyone know if this issue can cause a squeaky pedal? My pedal squeaks in the first 1/2 inch of travel. Comes from the interior of the car tho, not the brakes themselves. I am getting a new master cylinder now, and hoping this also fixes the noise.
