All that tech in the Q5/SQ5 and they didn't include induction charging for wireless devices. Meh.

They did, just not here.

Just my opinion...

Personally I am very glad I did NOT get this option. It would be helpful if you stick your phone on your windshield or vents. I do neither and the iPhone plus fits in the tray within the storage compartment nice enough. One more add, personally I think it looks cleaner without it up front. USB is old even though widely adopted technology that is already changing.

So if you do get this mid-year (rumble) upgrade, I wouldn’t be too happy about it.

The alternative for phone mount users would be to run a very long unsightly USB cable from the center console to the phone mount. I kind of agree with Cakasky that if you don't plan to use it, the compartment looks cleaner without it. Audi probably could have put a hard plastic cover over it for the best of both worlds.

Anyways, I've been browsing around Audi's manual pages and so far I've come across three revisions Q5 manual:

80A012721BB 01.2017
80A012721BC 05.2017
80A012721BD 11.2017

Both the May and November editions of the manual show the USB port on page 8, while the January edition does not. I'm curious as to what else has changed between minor revisions.

I agree, I am also curious what other changes occurred. More importantly any MMI software updates? Perhaps to fix the Top View Camera issue.

Picked up my Canadian version Technik Q5 today and can confirm that I do have the USB port relocated. Build date of October 19th. So far my top view camera has not had that issue but I will keep you posted. Oh and still have the rear fog lights too.

Just got my new Q5 Prestige (U.S.). And despite the manual showing the relocated USB port, mine still has both in the center console. Mine was built 09/17.

Just got my Q5 prestige and mine has both ports. One in the console and one as pictured here on the dash. The salesman was surprised it was there. Said it was the first one he'd seen.
