My local Hess has two different nozzles on their Diesel pump. There is a smaller diameter one and a larger diameter one. The larger one will not fit but the smaller one fits perfectly.

I'm in Greensboro often, if you tell me where the station is that you have issues, I'd be happy to stop by and give it a go.

I just posted a photo of the adapter on the TDI Discussion Forum here:

Dutch, I finaly got the paart from Pelican. Thanks for the info. I continue to have problems with the station fillers. The Q requires a 24mm and most stations have a 21mm gas filler nozzel. When I am local I know where to get the diesel but just take a trip and you will discover how many stations have the wrong one.

The adapter is supplied in a tube(jar) with a screw lid so you won't smell the diesel after a fill up. Cost is about $8.00.

I've had the adapter in my car from new, but have not needed to use it. I usually fuel up at Race-Trac or Flying J Truck stops. No problems.

I am fixin' to go cross country from Atlanta to Tacoma, WA and back with a side trip through Canada. I'll be curious to see if the adapter is needed during the trip.

The Hess on Lawndale in Greensboro does not have the correct size, Also the BP across from Fleet Plumber on Battleground did not but I notified them and they said they would fix it.

Dutch. I will be interested to hear about your trip. Last week I drove to upstate NY filled up 3 times (thank God for the big range) and 2 out of the 3 had the wrong size. Both were Exon and were new stations.

Either I am the only one who travels and uses a lot of different stations or I am the unluckiest person in the world. The only brand that I have found to consistently have the correct filler is BP.
