help 07 Q7 4.2 EPC and other lights on
Recently my car threw up a EPC, traction control and CEL. Can hardly run and sputters. I pulled the following codes and was wondering if anyone knew where I should start? What would be the main problem as some codes get thrown since its running so bad.
P0087 Fuel rail system pressure low
P0102 Mass or volume flow circuit low input
P129B Fuel Pressure regulator valve N276 Bank 2 open Circuit
P2231 O2 sensor signal circuit shorted to heater circuit Bank 1 sensor 1
P2401
P2294
P0087
P0458
P2257
P010C

I got the EPC light on mine about six months ago. My research led me to replacing the high pressure fuel pressure sensor that is found on the fuel rail at the rear of the engine underneath the decorative cover. Replaced it and haven't had any issues since. (knock on wood). It was a fairly easy install.
My codes were:
000136 - Fuel Rail/System Pressure
P0088 - 001 - Too High - Intermittent
008584 - Bank 1; System too Rich at Idle
P2188 - 008 - - Intermittent
008592 - Bank 2; System too Rich at Idle
P2190 - 008 - - Intermittent

My hunch is either the battery or ECU. Those codes don't point to a common problem (fuel pressure, voltage issues, airflow). If your battery is more than a few years old, I'd put my money on that as the culprit. The Q7's engine management electronics are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations and often show up as symptoms of a dying battery.

So you guys think battery? Should I put it on a trickle charger and see if it helps to be at full charge?
It starts fine and like I said battery about a year old. Hmm

I wouldn't even waste the time with the trickle charger. The heat destroys batteries. I live in AZ and my neighbor had his 911 carrera on a tow truck the other day for a dead battery.
