I had little oil burn with my first Liqui Moly oil run earlier this year until I went well past 5/6K miles. Then it seemed to accelerate on a much sharper curve. I'm currently running Mobil 1 with noticeably higher oil burn in the first 2/3K miles. I'm going to a 5K OCI and will go back to LiquiMoly next month and likely remain on the 5K OCI. I'm at 94K miles total and always ran the full 10K OCI before this oil change, mainly b/c I had purchased the Audi Care plan through 80K miles and the 10K annual service plans lined up nearly perfectly with my wife's driving habits. I've since put the Q7 into travel soccer duty and will be slapping 30-40K miles/year on it but using 5K OCI's
im sticking to 5k miles OCI since 60k miles. Im the second owner of the car and records show that the previous owner went 6k miles between oil changes. The reason why I want to try Motul 8100 is because some members said their oil consumption disappeared. Mine seems to have disappeared with liquimoly though. Maybe because its the second oil change with liquimoly or the recent thousand mile road trip cleared up the cylinder oil rings haha.

I’ve got an A8 with the 3.0T with 58K. Got the car from Carvana 1 month ago. About 2 weeks ago I got the warning to top up. Got it again this morning. I have 2 months left on the Carvana warranty, this should be covered, right? I’ve also got an oil pressure regulator code( No check engine light), think this might be the problem? I also bought an A6 from them about 2 years ago with the 2.0T. No problems.

I would imagine you'll be ok. I assume you're past the buyback period, right?

I’m not sure what the buyback is. My car is a 2017.

Wasn't sure what Carvana's buyback period is. In other words, the time frame you have to return the car with no questions asked.
The other option is to see if you can still buy an extended warranty through Carvana. Make sure that warranty covers the oil issue and voila, you're covered.

Yeah, the return date was a week after purchase and I don’t think I can get the extended one. Had to do that at purchase.

Just changed my oil for the 2nd time since i purchased it 10k miles ago and have had zero consumption either time. I do 5k oci and use LiquiMoly Leichtlauf High Tech Engine Oil 5w-40. the mityvac makes it sooo easy...you don't even have to change into your play clothes if you're careful

car is a 2019 with 35k....just a little info for everyone who is concerned that these engines are doomed

You had a problem with oil consumption before you switched to Liqui Moly? And it’s the 3.0T?
