You can justify it five ways to Sunday. The fact is, it's the only vehicle (possibly on the entire planet) that handles remote hatch closing in this way. I have discovered a lot of "why" moments with this vehicle, but it is what it is. Some German engineer decided, - German accent implied :-) - This is the best way, I know best. - and that's how it is. I just wish we could have an access to better tools to customize it. I know there are people working on decoding different options in the new MLBEVO platform, so I guess if given enough time, they may be able to figure out how to change it. A that point, we won't need to justify WHY things work (or don't) a certain way.
