Have read about it, think on Edmund's. There was a thread at the Bimmerposts forum that broke it all down.

Yes, a comparable X5 will be 3-4k more always, but if they are offering deals, it may not be too bad of a gap
All X5 wheel choices come with ROF's...got stuck with them on our S classes too even with AMG appearence pkg...only way out is true AMG cars 63's etc. Many S class owners hate them and once swapped to non, the car is transformed in ride and handling (less unsprung weight). So glad Audi offers non-ROF's on 21 and 22's for Q7's.

This first release is not without bugs which is typical. Those seats have been addressed. Here's a few pix of the Coffee leather I'm getting. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-...2965590/page2/

3 weeks ago I went into a test drive with a prejudicial mind regarding run flats. Upon driving the X5 I loved it. It was well controlled, very quiet, comfortable. I have no clue what brand or type they're using but they are as fine as regulars.

Still doesnt explain how they passed BMW QC in the first place....this is not a mechanical/electrical/SW etc. related issue normally associated with first year bugs that cannot be corrected or caught in QC

They're not the same, the sidewall on ROF are/must be considerably stiffer...if you were to swap them out it would transform the vehicles ride to something even better.

As in less control with more sway?

The side walls have to be so much stiffer to suport the massive weight of the vehicle especially a heavy SUV, they are also heavier which increases unsprung weight and directly affects handling. ROF's have gotten better over the years but they still cannot match non ROF's.
