Is "Royal Purple" oil any good? Just been introduced in SA.

Default Funny you should mention that one
I have a friend who has a late model Caddy which burns a quart per 1000 miles, thats right per 1,000 miles, and has been told that is NORMAL for the Northstar Engine.

He researched via Caddy forums, and someone recommended using Royal Purple. He changed his oil and filled it with Royal Purple, and has not noticed any improvement in oil burning.

I doubt that Royal Purple is very different than any other synthetic oil/blend....just a different package.

Gotta ask yourself... Where does the purple color go? It drains out black.

Default Yeah, it's just expensive synthetic, like redline or Amsoil
BTW, Audi used to consider 1 qt/ 1,000 miles normal as well, they might still...
