How many miles? Had a similar issue just this week. Shifts like butter when the car is off, near impossible to get into gear otherwise. I would be willing to bet that the pressure plate failed, it is a very common/documented problem with our vehicles as the OEM pressure plate has an SAC (self adjusting) pressure plate. Even if it is okay right now, you may want to consider a little preventative maintenance on this one. Just my $0.02
