Engine oil color?

Engine oil color?
Yesterday I did a quick engine oil level check and I noticed the oil was pretty brown for as few miles since last oil change.
I changed it at 1000 miles and currently I just cracked 3k miles.
Is this something I should be worried about? I have worked on lots of cars and engines and this color brown seems just too dark.

That means your engine is ready to blow...
Just kidding! Diff. oils have diff. colors. Just make sure it's transparent and not opaque, which would indicate high solids (dirty oil).
