I'm leaning a bit to the Bob end of the spectrum. Sure I care about the fact that fuel prices are jacking up the overall cost of living, the the actual car expense component of it won't deter me from owning and driving a maximum performance automobile. I just love it too much. To a lot of people, a car is just a means to get from point A to point B. That's fine. They may have other hobbies and passions that they are willing to spend extra money on. I think it's crazy to spend more than $20 on a bottle of wine, but there are people who will spend a **** load more than that....and not even drink the wine!!!!

Cars are my passion as they are for a lot of people who frequent this forum. Owning them and driving them. Until a time comes that I really can't afford it, I will always be willing to spend the extra money on cars.

BTW, yours and Bob's arguments are your own personal opinions on the matter. I'm just saying what is the general perception of quadrupled gas prices and commenting on what changes in behavior that brings.

The auto mfgrs are keenly aware of this and ahead of the curve. Watch and see...
