Default NAV DVD is unreadable

Have any of you seen this before? The DVD has never been removed from the slot and this message appeared yesterday for the first time. Wondering if it's really the DVD or the unit that has failed.

Yes, I should do that. I also have another DVD in the S4 which I could try when I get home if cleaning didn't work.

Default Could it be the heat???

Mine has been playing up intermittently too. And I notice it's only when it's quite hot and I don't have A/C on. Once everything is cool, it can read the DVD again. Anyone else noticed that??? I might try cleaning it anyway.

You are right, it is intermittent. When I went to try it on Saturday morning, the problem was gone. But, I am not sure about the relationship with the hot weather. Although the problem first appeared after the car was parked in 90+ degree weather for a while, it was there on Friday morning at or around 70 degrees too. In addition, I've owned the car since 11/2006 and it's been in hot weather before.
