Default Not another oil thread...but,

we have a bit of a dilemma. Our nearest Audi dealer is over 200 miles away...too far for routine oil changes. We're continuing to exceed Audi's drain intervals for the RS4 (also a 4.2 Q7).

While we have spare oil filters, crush gaskets and preferred oil, I am not physically able to perform oil changes myself (inasmuch I'd like to do so).

Any recommendations as to where we could get this routine work accomplished apart from an Audi dealership? We'd like to qualify a provider that would appreciate the differences and idiosyncracies of these cars to get the job done right.

Anyone been down this road before?

Default Filters are on top of the engine, and you could get an extractor for about $50.

Very little effort involved with that and all from above the car.

Default I don't see how one could be physically able to drive, yet not be able to change the oil.

what's the hang up? if you can lay flat on your back and use a screwdriver and a box wrench, you're physically able to do it. unless you're allergic to oil or something.

Default can't use an extractor with this engine....something about the oilpan baffles.

check the Bentley manual....it's in big bold red letters.

Default My suggestion would be to use your local AW or other audi forum

and find a good aftermarket shop recommendation. Or see if a local AW person who works on their own cars will do it for you

Default A good shop, or a VW shop

If you have the instructions do to an oil change printed off, it's pretty easy for anyone to do it.

Filters are on top of the engine. (really?.... I thought I've been everywhere under there)
