REVO RS4 Software - NEED HELP
LOCAL GUY here says i can just pull in and get it done in 40 mins......HMMMMMM
I thought they scanned yer ecu - thingy and sent data to REVO headquarters and software specific to your car was sent back and then loaded, lets face it i have milltek DPs/100 cell cats/ and cat back...it aint going run the same way..is it?
Surely 1 program in the this instance , does not "fit all". ??????

I see you are running 100 cell cats with Milltek dp. Have you had any trouble with emissions light coming on? I was advised to get 200 cell version to avoid it.

yea, it really is that quick but then theres the fine tuning to set the timing, fuel etc. mine was done on a dyno (still havent had a chance to go back and grab the graphs). basically they scan your ecu to see if its compatible with there software ie: if your car has a more updated version of the software than revo, they take your file and make the necessary adjustments otherwise its just a compatibility scan. my software works with my dp's real well, im sure with ur exhaust(dunno if the 100 cell cats make a difference) u noticed the slight power loss down low and gains up high, the software balances it out very well, the ecu also adapts to changes like exhaust, i say do it im very happy with my turn out

I highly doubt they are making multiple programs since your cars do not...
need injector upgrades or anything when adding an exhaust or downpipe. Similarly, the B6 S4 has the same revo programs for cars with exhausts as for cars without exhausts. Keep in mind the OEM ECU can fuel trim up and down 25% and can pull 12 degrees or more of timing and I doubt the addition of the exhaust is going to eat up much of any of that adjustability built into the ECU.
THe above is seperate from the issue of "fine tuning" that is offered in Revo programs in the form of SPS units. This is an adjustability that is offered with many revo programs that adusts across maps rather then actually custom tuning the map. This is a great feature but is not going to actually change a tuning curve such that might be needed for adding new components...but again...that doesnt seem to be an issue with just adding a full exhaust on these cars. If it was an issue the companies would make seperate files.

the only different files are a "stage 2" which performance wise is no different than the reg program
the only thing that it adds are cat deficiency codes so you dont get annoying cel's with downpipes... but ive never had one so i saw no need especially for no performance gains
