Yesterday for the first time ever I rang up a $50 gas fillup.

How is this I thought? Prices today are about where they were last year when I got my S4. I looked at the pump.. 14.75 gallons filled.

I know for a fact I never got a fillup in my S4 larger than 13.x gallons.

So our tank is at least a gallon bigger, if this pump is to be believed.

Maybe this is not news, I heard the tank was bigger, but didn't know it was that much bigger.

The tank is 16.6 gallons on the S4 and RS4

That is so weird. I feel like I had filled up my tank on the S4 near bottom and got no more than 13.x

Maybe the pump I used last night was off..

go by the specs in the manual, instead of guessing at it. Where you feel the gauge is from one time to the next is not accurate enough to try and figure from. Could be another gallon or so going on before noticebale movement of the gauge, especially at lower end.

Bingo! I ran my car dry a few times to test a few things and can attest to the reserve in the tank.

There seems to be quite a difference in calibration between the lower sections of the guage on my RS4 vs my B6 S4. I typically head for the pump at about the 1/4 mark, and I'm now consistently putting 1-2 gallons more in than I did before.

16.3 gal S4, 16.6 gal RS4. Not sure how accurate that is, though.
