Why should I go for an RS4 over a 335i? Seems like equal performance for $20K less... damn

I agree. I think people will see nice gains from tuning them...
but many will experience problems.
The turbos are actually smaller than on the B5 S4. Straining them over 300 hp will create heat and overspinning issues.
BMW has already said that the engine already limits torque as it's at the limit of what the driveline can handle.
It's not a car I would jump right into tinkering with.

that's all i was saying...
i've got driver seat time in the E90 3-series already, but not the 335, with this new motor and whatever they've done to the suspension, etc. so i would go drive the thing and get a first-hand feel for the car. obviously, i know it won't be broken in. but i don't plan on thrashing it during a test drive.
