Default Day 2, Part 2...

Long ago I had a 1967 GTO, and it has been a long time since I've felt that visceral feeling of patrolling the roads, a rumbling throb in the background, ready to come to the foreground in an instant. The amazing thing about this car is the way it straddles the world of the V-8 muscle car and the refined teutonic bahnburner. It just does, like nothing I've experienced. They say Ferdinand Piech loves American pickup trucks. I think he -- or those he let loose to revamp the S4 -- took a good look at the 1964 Pontiac GTO. Drivers, people who enjoy every aspect of driving, not just *****-to-wall, ascetic, treat-the-road-like-it's-a-track driving, but those who appreciate aesthetics, ergonomics, precision in design, as well as the crazy stuff, have to tip their hats to this car. We all knew Audi could do it. They did it in spades.

Default Hehe - I first got my driver's license back in the 60's and this was the sound neat cars

were supposed to make.

I fully agree with your comment that Audi has harnessed this hot rod world with the modern expectation of a German touring sedan/avant in a most delicious way.

It's as hard to put it into words as it is to wipe that silly grin off your face as you drive the car......

Default You may be right. After all, the B6 is all about Gas, Tires, and Oil.... <grin>

Sorry! It was just too good to pass up. <grin>

And for the record - I am very envious of you/your new scoot. <....sigh.....>

It's almost enough to make me ignore common sense/the economy and go do another margin loan. <g>

Default Great cars, until you have to turn.

Not to good in the snow, either. But great cars, nonetheless.

On the autox I just used the torque to bring the rear end around.
