Default Well... I think the key word here is possible.

I think almost anything is possible if you through enough money at it... with that out of the way, it would cost a boat load. Why would you want to in the first place? Besides to be different... The B5 is a great car because of its turbos. (When I say great, I don't mean reliable) That is what that car is. It can be a lot faster than a B6 if you go the K04 route. That would be much cheaper than trying to put a V8 in the car. Another issue you would have is the mechanic who did this miracle would probably be about the only person you would want to work on the car. That will limit many things, unless you have a money tree and/or are going to keep this car for eva. But don't let me discourage you if that is your dream.

Default Audi had to jump thru hoops to get the V8 to fit in the B6 engine bay which is bigger than the B5...

moving the timing chain to the rear to save like 18mm or something. And it JUST fits (barely) so i highly doubt the V8 would fit in the B5. And for 1/2 the money of that project you could mod a stock B5 to spank a B6, so why bother!

Default Yes it is possible but it would be very expensive

and might require some relocation of some things, so plan on custom fabrication.

Default

If you could make it fit, you would run into chassis stiffness problems. Not worth it IMHO.

Default Why would you want too?

Cost wise it would be better to find a A4 and just fit the tranny and engine.
