Default How to remove console between seats?

Anyone done this? I have had a squeek that I think I've locallized to the console itself...somewhere around where the e-brake handle connects. I'd like to take the whole console out, lube everything, and reinstall to see if that kills the sqeek. It sounds like plastic on plastic to me. Has anybody done this? How detailed is it?

Yes, I did ask the dealer to fix this, but after 3 attempts, no luck with them.

I've had the car a year, CAN'T get used to it! I usually have the radio on, but I can even hear it over that unless I really crank it on up.

Default I actually just stopped using the armrest as a result and now with my 6MT...

I can't have it down at all. I'm assuming yours is a tip though. See if you can't find the exact place the squeek is coming from and then put something inbetween the plastic pieces like a tooth pick or something then just snap it off, its ghetto but it will get the job done and save you the hassle of taking apart your car.

Default I've fixed this exact problem myself on a couple of B6's.

Check out the area directly under the ebrake handle. You'll notice a narrow elongated insert about 6" long and 1" wide at the very bottom of the 'bowl' shape. That part actually comes out. It sometimes squeeks. Under it, there is some wiring. It too sometimes squeeks. Lastly, on the left and right side along side the seats, sometimes squeeks. Stuff lots of felt in there and it'll go away. Good luck!

Isn't there two cupholders under everyones armrest? Or is my 2005 B6 some one-off freak?

Default I'm also interested in whether the B7 console with cupholders can be retrofitted...

Please keep us posted on what you find. If I had two usable cupholders on the console, that would resolve one of the only real issues I've found with the S4 (and a reasonably minor one at that, obviously).
