i have recently replaced my front two and was advised to keep same brand as rear which were original conti's. but i also don't like the conti's i much prefer the dunlop's i had on my 02 A4 3.0

Well - I tried to like them for 12K+ miles of use and never found a driving condition
that they really worked in. That includes over 1200 miles of track use in hot/dry, warm/wet, cool/dry, cool/wet, cold/dry, and cold/wet on road tracks. In all of the above condition combinations I have driven other tires that worked lots better.
Their only calling card from my perspective is that they suck equally well in all conditions.
The best thing I can say about my OEM Continental Sport Contact 2 tires is that they are gone.....

only good thing is they last...
i've got 29k miles (maybe 8k of that was on winter tires), but that included 11 track days.
They're getting replaced in the spring. Not sure with what, but they're gonna be gone. Winter tires are mounted now!

The pirellis are curently UNAVAILABLE in the US, but the real advantage is that they are
an all season tire and can be reasonably used in the winter and in snow. Not as good in winter as a dedicated snow tire. Not as good in summer as a high performance tire. Longer tread wear then stock Contis. It is a good tire for those who don't go to the track and don't want to switch between summer and winter tires and wheels. Also if you lease you may be able to get away with only buying one extra set of tires before lease end. Summer tires will probably wear out much faster. (especially if you run them at 35psi, like I do)

I just bought them yesterday from Ronal...
There is a link on the wheel and tire forum. They have already arrived overnight from CA to AZ. They are sold out seemingly everywhere else and on some sort of production hiatus. I regret not being able to get them from discount tire and save roughly $200 after install. ($152 per tire shipped, discount tire is avail locally in AZ and will mount and balance for free and rotate free) Ronal charged $692 for all 4 shipped. Very prompt shipping and a decent price.
I hope we get lots of snow in Flagstaff this year and that these tires meet the hype.
