True but it's not the issue that Ithink Bobby is experiencing.

Bobby, If you are entering the destination in myAudi directly, There is a specific field order that needs to be followed. I've had no issues using the Send To Car from Google maps online though. Perhaps there was a Google field translation glitch in one or more destinations you tried.

Just piling on the n00b J/K - it seems to be old timers reunion lately, but maybe it's just me.

On a serious note: I don't get why Audi apparently has a free app for ROW, but nothing for USA folks?

Sometimes the data comes through OK and sometimes it doesn't. The strange thing is, the address book on audi's MMI web site also puts it street name, number. Thankfully the nav managed to find it most of the time.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it's AoA's fault some how!

I think lots of us wandered off and are finding our way back again. The B8.5 S4 sure is a nice car.

Yeah, S6 finally is getting me to give up my 3rd pedal... first car Audi's built since the C5 2.7T manual that grabbed me enough to consider changing! I drove an S-tronic S4 to decide I could live with a flappy paddle gearbox - agreed it's very nice!

I'll let you guys work out the bugs on this feature while I await my car

I lubs my flappy paddle gearbox. Sometimes it's a bit violent (in a fun way) but it can also behave with remarkable smoothness for both up and downshifts.

I hope google improves the send to car feature when they turn it back on in the new maps.

I noticed that it google searches the data and if there's a name then sometimes it finds it anyway through online destinations.
Google Maps actually sends the GPS coordinates. When you pull up the destination in the MMI, you should see two addresses. You want to select the first address in the list. That one is called the navigation address. It often looks partial, for example it may just have the street name. No worries, because it has the actual GPS coordinates, they just don't show. Once you select that navigation address you should see the GPS coordinates slightly grayed out on the next screen. If you select the second address, the MMI has to parse it first, which doesn't always work.

This notion of the navigation address is present throughout the MMI. For example if you want to navigate to a contact of yours, the MMI first has to parse the address from your phone's address book and convert it to the actual navigation address and then you have to save it. This creates a shadow entry in the MMI's address book, which gets associated with the contact coming from your phone. The parsing doesn't always work, for example if the address on your phone contains an apartment or suite number. At that point you have to manually enter the navigation address.
