I just would like to say that you are a brave man to mask your interior and use a spray can on the interior of your brand new $50k car.

Especially since there have been several posts on the various Audi boards about how to remove those pieces without destroying them.

I'm fairly sure that the removal of those two trim pieces is actually relatively easy.

I hated the silver plastic. IMHO, IT looked cheap. It matched nothing else in the car. Its OK if you like the Silver plastic better. I might have actually been able to live with real aluminum. I'm happy with the black. I can't believe how much better it looks to me. Yes, I would prefer CF. Tell me where you can get some to match the OEM CF. NOWHERE! So for now, this is the best that I can do.

Honestly it comes down to personal preference. I think you did a great job and no doubt some serious ***** to do what you did. If you like it that is all that matters. Who cares about others opinions. I think you did a great job.

But I really wish they had that area in CF too.. just seems like Audi got too "cheap" to finish the job type of thing..

would be nice to see some pics with better lighting and no flash...

might end some of the debate as most seem dissatisfied with the silver trim.

Are you allowed to do this type of modification to a leased vehicle ?

Gutsy move indeed! It sure changes the look of the panel and I'm glad you are happy with it and have no regrets. Like someone mentioned before it is very hard to photograph a black interior and get the blacks right. You said it looks shinier than the rest of the plastic but it looks flatter to me in the pictures. I happen to like the silver but I would rather have real aluminum, SS or CF instead.

Cool, now it blends with everything else in the dash.

I doubt the pictures reflect what it really looks like. Personally I'm happy with the silver trim but I have the standard "brushed aluminum" trim and I didn't notice it didn't match until someone pointed it out online. But like an earlier poster pointed out, it seems in the pictures to be out of place a bit?
