Do all you modders have tons of extra cash or do you just blow all your cash on the ride?
There is no way I can pay for mods! A set of intercoolers is over 1K alone; talk about a serious precedent. Where does the doe come from?

I make a good living but im not rich by anymeans.
Ive spent about 2000 bucks in the 2 months Ive owned this thing but at the same time, I do alot of price comparing. All but the chip, alot of mods can be done for alot less if you buy used and do the work yourself. Well, and mod wisely too, no point in buying ICs with stock everything else, ect.

my CFO (wife) has held me largely in check
otherwise my shizzle would be on 'pimp my ride' or some such nonsense. :-P seriously, i've done comparatively little to my car over 5 years (rs4 clutch, stasis center diff, and awe lwfw done ~3 weeks ago).
i mod primarily to further enjoy/compete in autox so there's a method to my madness. just priortize what you want out of your car and start there. i endlessly enjoy the handling afforded by my tracksports, cpp adjustable upper control arms, and aggressive street alignment. those bits alone always bring a smile to my face.
your mindset is correct. cash good. killing credit cards bad.

i've been living by the "go ghetto yet effective" route
I make ok money for a student but i've had to sell some parts and buy them back later due to bills, etc. I just sold my AMS ecu for the 2nd time because of bills...i'm sure i'll be buying AMS again in a few months =/
