Default How to clear chip codes before dealer visit?

APR w/ cruise control staulk functionality. I believe all I have to do is wait till I get 5 blinks (TBB alignment), then go run it in stock mode for 50 miles to generate some data. Does this sound right?

Does anyone lock it also before the dealer visit?

Default Wait, how does that work? The chip would still need to be in there to run that option right?

So when you swap it you are still going to have a lo voltage code?

He's probably going to go in with the APR chip in the car, but in "stock" chip mode.

Default Uh, I'm not condoning going in and fooling them, but if you are trying to do that you....

need to put your stock ECU back in and clear the codes with a VAG - then, you'll need to drive around for some time (maybe 50 miles or so) to get readiness codes all back to "OK" - I forget how many miles this takes exactly....

If you're planning to put the car in stock mode with the APR chip and "fooling" the dealer, it won't work - my dealership knew I had I chip (I told them, actually asked about it before I got it) -

I'd still put it in stock mode going in for service so the techs did not beat on my car too much - the techs used to come out after my service and tell me how fast my car was in chipped mode - they know what to do....

Now, it's a good thing I never went in for service with AMS/ABT, then they would have thought my car was really fast!

Not the best idea, all they would have to do is pop the cover.

Default Then they would be breaking the law - they are not allowed

to open the box up in any way - they may only remove it entirely

Default I don't mean the ECU casing, I meant the cover to access the ECU. Besides, trust me, if the dealer

wants to know if you're chipped, they'll find out. Better to be straight with them rather than to fool them and get on their bad side. My two cents.
