Default TipTronic Question

When I am in tip mode, if I floor it from a stop the computer automatically shifts me from 1st to 2nd gear before I get to 3000 rpm. Anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know if a Tip chip would fix that? Anyone know why I am having this problem?<p>-Josh

Default That's how it works. I don't know if any Tip chips reprogram that behavior and if they should

Tip shifts at 3mph unless throttle is over 80%, otherwise at 6 1/2k or so...

Default Wait...if you floor it, shouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd automatically...

If the throttle is more than 80%, won't automatically shift in either mode. Also, there is the kickdown position of the throttle (at the end of the normal travel, you push REALLY hard and it goes to the floor) if the throttle is in kickdown, it'll shift at redline or wait for you to shift.

For all normal driving, you have to live with the 1st to 2nd shift but doing drag runs, it doesn't do it.
